Stadium Information
Anfield was built in 1884 and was originally the home of rivals Everton. Liverpool were formed in 1892 and became the new residents after Everton moved to Goodison Park.
In 1994 the ground was converted to an all seater venue and is considered by UEFA as an Elite Stadium playing host to many International events. All four stands are covered and consist of; the Anfield Road end, the Centenary Stand, the Main Stand and most famously, The Kop.
Liverpool FC Facts
Liverpool Football Club was founded by businessman John Houlding, the owner of Anfield in 1892 after failing to agree new terms with his previous tenants ... Everton FC.
Liverpool were the first British club to carry a sponsor's name on their shirts when, in 1979, they agreed a deal with electronics giant Hitachi.
