Stadium Information

The stadium is located centrally in the city, not far from the Railway Station. Carrow Road is named after the road on which it is located. It was purpose built in 1935 with construction taking just 82 days!

The stadium has been extensively worked on several times during its history, notably following a fire that destroyed the old City Stand in 1984.

Since 1990 the ground has been all-seater. The ground's modern capacity is currently 26,034, with a record attendance of 25,522, but in the days of standing fans, it saw a record attendance of 43,984 in 1963.

The Carrow Road site now includes a club superstore, catering facilities and a hotel.

Norwich FC Facts

The nickname Canaries was adopted because of Norwich's trade in breeding and exporting pet birds, the club's colours were chosen as a result.
